Squid Brain Studios is an independent animation studio that specializes in 2D and 3D animation located in Calgary, Alberta. We are a small and dedicated team of creatives and leaders that are passionate about storytelling, technology experimentation and high production standards. We truly believe that animation can be a powerful tool for telling unique stories and is a viable industry for economic growth in Alberta. Squid Brain Studios was founded in June 2019.
At Squid Brain Studio we specialize in short films, feature films and TV series from script development to delivery at every stage. We have worked collaboratively with B.C.-based studios like New Machine Inc to create world-class production and we are open to working with other studios who are interested in creative, technical and rendering support.

Emerging from a sea of cartoons, madness and too much coffee, Squid Brain was birthed from the twisted minds of Chad Veinot and Pat Wilding. Cephalopods are the perfect mascot, colorful creatures with a unique sense of vision, that deftly maneuver through difficult spaces. With a central nervous system like a computer, they use multiple brains to control their tentacles, like each of our creative and administrative departments!
